STIs TEST
Berlin Aids-Hilfe eV : In 1985, the Berlin Aids-Hilfe was founded as a self-help organization to support people with HIV or AIDS as a non-profit and charitable association. Today we are a human rights organization with a focus on health care. We fight against the stigmatization of HIV-positive people and for a life free of discrimination. On behalf of the State of Berlin, we take on tasks in the area of health care and prevention in the areas of HIV and AIDS, sexually transmitted infections (STI) and hepatitis.
Testing and advice
In addition to our test center for HIV, STI and hepatitis, near Nollendorfplatz in Schöneberg, we offer a comprehensive range of advice for those seeking advice on a wide range of problems. People with HIV or AIDS will find a wide range of offers for a self-determined life in our self-help and discussion groups, meeting offers and individual assistance. As a cooperation partner of Checkpoint BLN at Hermannplatz, we offer a range of tests, advice and medical treatment for gay and bisexual men, trans* and inter* people (regardless of their sexual orientation).
The people of the Berlin Aids-Hilfe
In addition to the 42 full-time employees, who are spread over 26 full-time positions, the core of the staff consists of more than 160 volunteer employees. We explicitly live the implementation of the GIPA principles, which provide for a strong involvement of people with HIV or AIDS in our everyday work. Many of our offers are based on voluntary commitment and are financed by donations and third-party funds. More than 200 members support the association both morally and financially.
End AIDS by 2030
In the implementation of the international metropolitan initiative Fast-Track Cities-Initiative to end AIDS , the Berlin Aids-Hilfe is an important partner of the State of Berlin in order to end AIDS by 2030. For us, the goal is: zero discrimination and stigmatization of people with HIV or AIDS in the first place. As an independent organization, we always take a partisan and solidary stand against the stigmatization and discrimination of HIV-positive people.
Our networks
Institutionally, the Berlin Aids-Hilfe is integrated into a variety of networks. We are a member of the umbrella organization Deutsche Aidshilfe eV, the Paritätisches Landesverband Berlin, the Berlin CSD eV and the network of volunteers.
