History
Established in 1988.
Founded to address the HIV epidemic, Harlem United is now a full-service community health care center that provides comprehensive treatment for chronic conditions through accessible health care, supportive housing, prevention and testing services, and care coordination for its clients – regardless of race, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Annually, Harlem United provides dignified housing for over 900 formerly homeless people, conducts over 23,000 medical visits, engages over 10,000 people across all our programs, and provides over 20,000 hot meals and pantry bags to those in need.
