Policlinico Umberto I : The Policlinico Umberto I Company is formed by the Company Management composed of the general, health and administrative management.

The General Management presides over the overall governance activities of the Healthcare Company; The health management manages the assistance to citizens, the administrative one to all formal acts.

Infectious diseases

• Hospitalization, diagnosis and treatment of infectious and tropical diseases caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoa.
• Isolation of infectious diseases with high diffusion and contagiousness.
• Active H24 consultancy service at the DEA and in all hospital departments.
• Intervention activities in the context of healthcare associated infection control.
• Prevention of the spread of multidrug-resistant microorganisms and prescribing appropriateness in antibiotic therapy.
• Antibiotic Stewardship.
• Follow up HIV-positive and co-infected people.
• Management of antiretroviral therapy.
• HIV testing counseling.
• HIV pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis activities (PREP/PEP).
• Follow up occupational exposures to infectious agents.
• Anal HPV screening.
• Rabies prophylaxis.
• Latent and active TB monitoring.
• Surveillance of infectious diseases in healthcare workers.
• Management of sexually transmitted diseases and traveler’s diseases.

Policlinico Umberto I : L’Azienda Policlinico Umberto I è formata dalla Direzione Aziendale composta dalla direzione generale, sanitaria e amministrativa.

La Direzione generale presiede alle attività di governo complessivo dell’Azienda Sanitaria; La direzione sanitaria gestisce l’assistenza ai cittadini, quella amministrativa a tutti gli atti formali.

Malattie Infettive

• Attività di ricovero, diagnosi e cura delle malattie infettive e tropicali causati da batteri, virus, miceti e protozoi.
• Isolamento di patologie infettive ad alta diffusione e contagiosità.
• Servizio attivo di consulenza H24 al DEA e in tutti i reparti dell’ospedale.
• Attività di intervento nell’ambito del controllo delle infezioni correlate all’assistenza.
• Prevenzione della diffusione di microrganismi multifarmacoresistenti e appropriatezza prescrittiva nella terapia antibiotica.
• Antibiotic Stewardship.
• Follow up persone sieropositive HIV e coinfette.
• Gestione della terapia antiretrovirale.Attività di counselling per test HIV.
• Attività di profilassi pre- e post-esposizione ad HIV (PREP/PEP).
• Follow up esposizioni professionali ad agenti infettivi.
• Screening HPV anale.
• Profilassi anti-rabbica.
• Monitoraggio TB latente e attiva.
• Sorveglianza patologie infettive negli operatori sanitari.
• Gestione malattie sessualmente trasmesse e malattie del viaggiatore.
