University Malaya Specialist Centre (UMSC) is a tertiary medical centre. Established in 1998, UMSC was initially located at University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) and in 2007 shifted to UMSC’s own building located at Jalan Universiti, Petaling Jaya. It is adjacent to the largest teaching hospital in Malaysia, UMMC and the oldest Faculty of Medicine founded in 1905.
UMSC Infectious Diseases Service : The Division of Infectious Diseases provides comprehensive services involving the prevention and treatment of a variety of infectious diseases including community and hospital acquired infections.
Services available: To provide comprehensive care and treatment to patients with infectious diseases which include:
Screening, counselling and treatment of
– HIV infection
– HIV related opportunistic infections
– HIV –Hepatitis B and C co-infections
– HIV related non infectious diseases
– HIV in pregnancy
– HIV Pre exposure and post exposure prophylaxis HIV Sero-discordant couples wishing to conceive
Screening and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases (other than HIV) including syphilis, gonorrhoea, chlamydia, herpes and anogenital warts
