U=U&ME Reducing the stigma of HIV-infected people

On May 3, 2024, a photo shoot for the U=U&ME campaign organized by the Love Foundation. At Crimson Studio in Bangkok. This campaign aims to raise awareness and enhance understanding of living with HIV. Focusing on education and combating the stigma associated with HIV.

The concept “U=U” (Undetectable = Untransmittable)

The U=U&ME campaign emphasizes the accurate dissemination of scientific information about the concept “U=U” (Undetectable = Untransmittable). This principle asserts that individuals with undetectable viral loads. Consistent treatment cannot transmit the virus. This concept, endorsed by the World Health Organization and leading medical institutions worldwide, helps reduce fear and discrimination. It allows people living with HIV to lead normal lives and engage in sexual relationships without the worry of transmission.

Prominent figures who participated in the photo shoot and play crucial roles in raising HIV awareness in Thai society included MP Tunyawat Kamolwongwat, Brian Tan, Nok Yolda Suanyot, Natalia Pliacam, Ton Sirisak Chaitas, Dr. Aritat Tangsanga, and Dr. Chaiwat Songsiriphan. The photographer for the event was Pui Sorachai Sangsuwan. Their involvement adds credibility and broadens the campaign’s reach across different sectors, including politics, entertainment, and healthcare.

The campaign’s goals U=U&ME

The campaign’s goals include fostering accurate understanding and awareness of HIV in Thai society, reducing fear and discrimination against people living with HIV, and promoting a warm and inclusive community where everyone can coexist without prejudice. U=U&ME also aims to encourage open discussions about HIV within families,educational institutions and workplaces. Reduce stigma and increase social support for those living with HIV.
